i've shared this before but...

it's fun to revisit things.

also, i know everyone has already seen it but i think it's adorable and i would wear some form of every outfit in this video. fashion is so fun and i'm having a good time in this period of life with rediscovering it.

i make videos like this in my dreams. i just love it.

have a great weekend!

castello cavalcanti.

adam & i watched wes anderson's new short film, presented by prada, castello cavalcanti last night
and it made us really want to visit italy
and buy an old racecar.
lots of visual style in that one.
the palette is delightful.

but, really,
it mostly reminded us of this snl sketch,
where we were busting our guts over the
"the new york times: "you had me at wes anderson."" part
because isn't it the truth?

in all seriousness,
where can we get a car like that?!
wes anderson,
you sure make things pretty to look at.

wedding video!

here is our wedding video
shot by the lovely duo of roz cinema.
i think i will just let it speak for itself here,
aside from mentioning that i love that they captured how undeniably happy and touched my husband was that whole day, and for that reason i will love it forever and ever...
watch in hd if you please!

more wedding posts here.

the feel good dance video of the year.

when i'm having a bad day (like this one. boo.)
i watch this video.
dance videos are the best medicine, don't you know?
i figured it was about time to post it on this blog.
oh, kyle hanagami.
why you so good?
way to turn a girl into an ed sheeran fan.

skip to 1:30 if you must. that's when the dancing gets a-going.
and give it a chance because when it gets going, it really gets going.

i nearly squealed when the crew at the high school told me they have a lighting set up similar to this,
which is a BIG DEAL.

makes me want to drop everything and start creating.
the possibilities!
i love dance. i really do. i promise.
if you want more delicious dancing,
just google kyle hanagami.
the man is made of gold.

i can't wait to see it.

teen idle.

in honor of this week's embarrassing moment
in which i accidentally butt dialed my work while belting this song,
which is especially funny because i dropped my phone a couple months ago and it doesn't make clear calls
but it decided to work this time...
that was a fun conversation the next day.

i'm sharing this beautiful song.

i went to her concert back in may and it was stunning and the time of my life. she's beautiful live.

now presenting, arguably, one of the best song's marina & the diamonds has ever released.

go here for the album version. it's diff'rent.
into it either way.

do you know where the wild things go?

have you seen this?
answer: probably.

me? i'm late to the game.
my dear sister, hannah, showed it to me
and

i cannot stop watching it.
it's so mesmerizing!
and so very intense, if i might say so.

also,
this song rocks.

thanks, hannah!

(ok. i know videos rarely get watched when posted on blogs. but this one is a goodie. i mean, there are lines from where the wild things are. so ... watch! might not be your cup of tea... i love it but i'm just a huge fan of raw emotion. huge.)

that time i woke up feeling inspired just because the calendar said MARCH on it.

can you believe that this month will bring us the first day of spring?!
me either!
i know it happens every year,
but it's never any less exciting!

i can't believe how rejuvenated i feel just seeing a new month on the calendar lately!
it's wonderful!

plus, it RAINED instead of SNOWING on me on my sunday walk!
huzzah!
exclamation points!

i certainly hope this inspiration and renewed feeling is widespread
because it's certainly spectacular.

i have such a long list of things that i want to do,
both spiritually and superficially,
and i'm terribly excited to start crossing them off.

but, hey! here's something on the superficial side.
we watched funny face last night and thought this scene was quite the doozy.
we watched it about three times in a row!

it's the little things.

enjoy
& happy march!
oh, how i love saying that!!
thank your lucky stars for march!

settle down.

i wasn't a big fan of her initially,
but for some reason i am all over this right now.

the whole color story,
the imagery,
the fashion,
her sweet moves...
it's got my name written all over it.

good golly gosh, i am easily inspired and i know it.
but i'm getting all kinds of inspiration from kimbra here.

i'm also sensing a dye-job in my near future...

enjoy!

dancing in the dark.

this is other worldly.

i'm so inspired by gestures and i love to use simple, minimalist, relatable things in my own choreography...
but this?!
breathtakingly complex and amazing.
ugh!
gestures are just so beautiful!

if you haven't seen this, yet, please watch the whole thing.
it is so stunning.

plus,
once i got to talk to matt luck
and it was one of the highlights of my life.
his mind is just on a different wavelength.

choreography by matt luck.
danced by emma portner and himself.

mumford&sons.

attn: major mumford&sons geeking out ahead.

ok. so i can finally talk about this now that the dust has settled.
i couldn't even listen to them for days after going to the concert.
i didn't want to revisit the experience because it was just so...
personal.

i mean,
you think mumford&sons is amazing
and then you see them...

and you're like...
mumford&sons is the equivalent of the most beautiful sunrise you have ever seen.

it's like they are on stage just letting you share in an experience instead of performing.
i think mumford&sons music is the definition of being alive.

i don't really care how ridiculous this sounds,
but i just had some real revelations watching those beautiful people up on that stage,
with the sun setting on the salt lake just to the right of us
and the stars shining above
being with some of my favorite people in the world.
it's like the veil was lifted for a few hours
and perspective and light and love shone on all of us.
everyone... i mean everyone... felt it. (we asked)

don't get me started on the fact that they played 'after the storm' as an encore
and stated that they "hadn't played this one in a while"
but they were going to for salt lake city. (!!!)
i will share one day why this song is so special to me and my family
but for now...

i can't pick a favorite,
so i just picked one song.
this video is the closest i have found to what this song was like at the concert:
marcus's passion,
the audience participation,
ted's just pure JOY to be there.

that's what it is...
everyone involved was experiencing a pure JOY and LOVE.

now just imagine marcus yelling even louder,
ben's keyboarding and head-banging even more aggressive,
ted's smile while he plays the bass even brighter,
and the audience just jumping and yelling and crying because they just can't help it.

it's like i never want to go to any other concerts again in my lifetime.
this was THE ONE.

liberal arts.

we saw this film up at sundance this last winter and absolutely loved it.
we are oh-so excited it will come to theaters this september!
if you can't tell... we really love movies.

it's so much more than shown in this trailer...
plus... zac efron is in it and is... hiiiiilarious.
btw how good is this music?
looking forward to seeing it again
like nobody's business.

a heyhey

friday was the day adam & i were supposed to take a trip to dc.
long story short, that didn't happen.

we were definitely feeling the blues,
so adam called me up thursday night and told me he took the day off so we could spend some time together
and do all kinds of distracting activities!

picnics and bookstores are some of our absolute favorite things in the world,
and i can honestly say i only thought about dc three times that whole day,
which is a sure sign we were pretty successful, if you ask me. :)

the day was very simple,
but i love simple.
simple makes me happy...
and real love is simple, am i right?

adam cannot be serious. cameras amplify that.
but take note of adam's amazing thrifted picnic basket.
it has adventure written all over it!

p.s. this was filmed & edited using the 8mm and imovie apps on my phone.
song is everyday by buddy holly.

moonrise kingdom

raise your hand if you want to see this film?
it looks crazy and like it could be kind of wonderful.

"Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness"

if you've already seen it, what did you think?
i must know!

split screen

i love this little video.

adam & i were long distance for so long,
i can't help but lovingly reminisce about the morning phone calls during breakfast
(which was hard with the time difference!)
and the excitedness when one of us would be boarding on a plane that day to see the other.
plenty of "i'm seeing you in 8 hours!" and "i can't believe we are going to see each other ... today!"
and those first hugs when you'd finally see each other in the airport...
i'd often just drop my luggage and run to him (i'm sure the tsa were really happy about that...).
golly, i still get butterflies thinking about it!
especially that first time.
we had first met on the train in dc for maybe 20 minutes
and neither of us made a whole lot of eye contact during our small talk,
so meeting at the airport a few months later was nerve-wracking to say the least!

it's worth mentioning that this whole film was shot on a cell phone! enjoy!

when we were together

thanks to yesterday,
thanks to my sister,
and thanks to blaine & cooper,
this song (aka everyone and their mom's favorite song) has an entirely new meaning for me.

the first time i listened to it yesterday, i just had chills...
then halfway through the second time i burst into uncontrollable sobbing.

this song... it's too close for comfort now.
we were inseparable... we had such a deep bond...
then suddenly i don't know who he is anymore.
he never calls. he never texts.
i rarely even hear anything about him.
he uses the internet to write demeaning and untrue things about my family.
he seems to have forgotten every wonderful moment we shared together.
i have invested so much money and time helping him... just showing love for him,
but he treats me like a stranger, like i am plaguing him.
i have no regrets,
but it's so hard.
after everything we have been through,
i still love him and i want him in my life every day.

i miss my best friend, my buddy, my sleepover and giggle fits and make-believe comrade.
i miss my brother.
every day of my life is so hard without him.
i love him with all of my heart.
i will forever hate drugs for what they did to my family,
but i'm so grateful for the atonement and forgiveness.

in the meantime,
i will wish it weren't so
and spend a lot of time on my knees.
love is the answer.
be sure to hug those who remain close to you today.
the sometimes fleeting relationships of this life are so precious.
