to kick off love week...

earlier this month we got to play dress up and play pretend in a style shoot for amber lynn photography!
all i can think of while looking at these pictures
is how absolutely cold it was
(& how i wished i had worn a sweater to cover up my arms
for a number of reasons...)
and how fun it was to do this shoot with amber!
it made it totally worth it and we forgot how cold it was when she'd be shooting...
she's so wonderful!

amber is the sweetest girl to work with
and we had so much fun hanging out with her,
as well as with crystal from signature brides!
and those macaroons were to die for! get a hold of forget me not cake co. if you don't believe us!
we actually tucked a bunch of them in a napkin as we were leaving... :)

and just so you know, that's amber's pretty ring that i'm wearing in this styled shoot...
not mine! ;)


even though it was so cold (i mean... sooooo cold),
we wanted to sit at that table for hours!
it was so lovely.

you just have to put things on hold sometimes.

since i go to school in the mornings + teach like a maniac all over town at night
and adam has meetings in the mornings + works at night (read: all evening and laaate into the night),
we have this window from 12:30 to 3 pm on tuesdays and thursdays where we can spend some time together.

lately this time has meant opportunities for a lot of list making and organizing
which,
don't get me wrong,
is fun
but it can also take its toll.

so,
there we are...
driving to another destination on our to-do list,
feeling sort-of stressed,
when we suddenly find ourselves sitting on old & cracked leather booth seats,
eating a five dollar eggs and pancake combo,
and giggling so hard that we're (well... just me...) spilling syrup all over the table (we adam cleaned it up, don't worry).

it was really nice.
i mean... really nice.
even if we didn't get to ikea in time,
sometimes you just gotta stop and eat pancakes, you know?
that råskog and jonsbo oröd can wait.

diner dates.

they're especially fun when:

-you are (literally) the only ones there, so all the staff can hear your giggles.
-you drink arnold palmers for at least fifteen minutes before you even think about ordering.
-your date wears suspenders and parts his crazy hair.
-your date also knows every old song that comes on.
-you go in planning on eating dessert.
-your date pays your tip with neatly stacked quarters.


we could eat diner food at least three times per week
but that wouldn't be good for our waistlines, now would it?
