leaves become most beautiful when they're about to die

you can't keep everything.
if you kept everything, you'd have to:
 buy a bigger house      and
 own a lot of boxes.

if you kept everything you'd eventually have no room for the new
and you'd be stuck in a big, crate-filled house with the same ole stuff.
so we get rid of things.

or some things just leave.
there is no feeling like seeing something ride off into the sunset without you.
it's just gone.
maybe it didn't even know it was going to leave.
but it did.
and it's gone.
i wonder if the things that leave us behind
feel sad when they go.
i'm sure they do.
{well at least i hope they do}

the most beautiful moments in life are filled with sadness.
i am most inspired by them.
the moments before something leaves are often the most beautiful.

when something leaves you,
and you don't want it to go.
but it has to.
we can't hold on to green leaves forever.
we clean things out to rid ourselves of the extraneous.
we grab a bucket of water and start washing away.
crying is just getting all the needless rubbish out of the way,
rinsing your eyes so everything can be seen for what it is again.

i wonder, when the leaves change,
if they are sad
or know they are leaving...
because they look so beautiful.

but when we look at them in their redandyellowandbrown suits,
we know the leaves are leaving.
and Time is just showing us what it does best.
